Here's what makes us different

Lifetime warranty on all labor
Most electricians cover their work for a year, maybe two. We cover ours for as long as you own your home. If something we installed ever fails because of our workmanship, we come back and fix it — no charge. That's not common in this trade. We do it because we stand behind what we build.

Upfront pricing, no surprises
We tell you the price before we start. That's the price you pay. No mid-job calls saying we found something extra. Regular service calls are $85. Emergency and after-hours calls are $125. Both fees are waived if you move forward with the repair.

Fast 24/7 Response Service
Electrical problems can’t wait. DNZ Electrical Services responds quickly to service requests across Agoura Hills and surrounding communities to get your power and safety restored as soon as possible.

Free outlet tester with every job
When we wrap up a job, we hand you a plug-in outlet tester and show you how to use it. It's a $25 tool that lets you check any outlet in your home for wiring problems.
No other electrician in Ventura County does this. We think you should be able to spot basic safety issues yourself — not wait for a service call.

About DNZ Electrical Services

DNZ Electrical Services has been serving homeowners across Agoura Hills, Thousand Oaks, and the greater Los Angeles and Ventura Counties for over 23 years. The business was built from scratch — one job at a time, one referral at a time — by a licensed electrician who learned the trade the old way. Alongside people who had been doing it for decades.
That foundation shows in how DNZ operates today. Three fully-stocked service trucks. Three licensed electricians. A family that is directly involved in the day-to-day running of the business. When you call 818-514-1417, a real person answers — not a call center, not voicemail. The people picking up the phone have a stake in how your job goes.
The team at DNZ will be the first to tell you — most electrical problems in homes are not that complicated. A tripping breaker, a dead outlet, a panel that can't keep up with a modern home. A good electrician diagnoses it fast and explains it clearly. What makes the job hard isn't the technical part. It's the trust part. Homeowners don't know what's going on inside their walls. They're letting a stranger into their house and hoping for the best.
That's why every job comes with a lifetime warranty on labor. Not one year. Not two. For as long as you own your home. If anything DNZ installed ever fails because of workmanship, we come back and fix it at no charge. No other electrician in this area offers that. It's possible because the same family has been doing this work in the same community since 2001 — and they plan to be here for another 23 years.
One piece of advice before you hire any electrician — including DNZ. Check their license at cslb.ca.gov. It's free and takes 30 seconds. Our license number is 1010883. Look it up. We encourage it. Then ask what their warranty covers and how long it lasts. If they hesitate on that question, you have your answer.

Questions Homeowners Ask Before They Call
Straight answers about electrical work, pricing, and what to look for when hiring a licensed electrician in Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills.
How much does an electrician cost in Thousand Oaks or Agoura Hills?
For most home electrical jobs in the Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills area, electricians charge a service call fee plus labor. At DNZ, our service call fee is $85 during regular hours and $125 for emergencies or after-hours calls. Both fees are waived if you move forward with the repair. Larger jobs like panel upgrades typically run $2,500 to $5,000. EV charger installs run $500 to $1,500 depending on your panel and the distance of the run. We give you a firm price before we start anything.
What is your service call fee?
Our service call fee is $85 during normal hours. For nights, weekends, and emergencies it's $125. Both fees go away if you hire us to do the repair or install. You never pay just for us to show up and look.
How do I know if I need an electrical panel upgrade?
Watch for these signs. Your breakers trip a lot. Your lights flicker when you turn on big appliances. Your panel is over 30 years old. Your panel is full with no room for new breakers. You want to add an EV charger or big appliance. If you see any of these, call DNZ at 818-514-1417. We check your panel and give you a straight answer — no upsell.
How much does a panel upgrade cost in Thousand Oaks or Agoura Hills?
Most panel upgrades in our area cost $2,500 to $5,000. The price depends on the size of the new panel and what the city charges for permits. DNZ handles all the permits and sets up the inspection. Most jobs are done in one day. We give you a firm price before we touch anything.
Do I need a new panel to install an EV charger?
Not always. Most homes with a 200-amp panel are fine. You just need a new circuit added. If your panel is 100 amps or already very full, you might need an upgrade first. DNZ checks your panel before recommending anything. We are EVITP certified and Tesla Wall Connector certified. Call 818-514-1417 and we'll tell you what your home needs.
How much does a home EV charger installation cost?
In Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills, most Level 2 EV charger installs cost $500 to $1,500. That does not include the charger itself. If your panel needs an upgrade too, add $2,500 to $5,000. DNZ handles the permit and inspection. We install chargers for Tesla, Ford, Rivian, and all other EV brands. Most installs take 2 to 4 hours.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Call us right away if you smell burning near an outlet or your panel. Call if you see sparks or black marks around outlets. Call if part of your house lost power and you don't know why. Call if a breaker won't reset. Call if you hear buzzing or crackling from your walls. These things can be dangerous. Don't wait. DNZ answers emergency calls 24 hours a day at 818-514-1417. The after-hours fee is $125 and goes away if we do the repair.
How do I check if an electrician is licensed in California?
Go to cslb.ca.gov. It's free. Type in the company name or license number. You'll see if the license is current and if there are any complaints. DNZ Electrical Services holds California contractor licenses B and C10. Our license number is 1010883. Look it up. We want you to check.
What does your lifetime warranty cover?
It covers our work — for as long as you own your home. If anything DNZ installed ever fails because of how we did the job, we come back and fix it for free. Most electricians cover their work for one year. We cover ours for life. This covers workmanship only. It does not cover parts that wear out on their own or damage caused by something else.
Is there a tax credit for installing a home EV charger?
Yes. The federal 30C tax credit covers up to 30% of your install cost, up to $1,000. This credit expires June 30, 2026 — so don't wait too long. Southern California Edison also has rebates for EV charger installs. DNZ is an SCE Approved Contractor and can help you find out what programs apply to your home. Call 818-514-1417 to ask.
