About DNZ Electrical Services | A Family Business Built on 23 Years of Work in Agoura Hills and Thousand Oaks

DNZ Electrical Services is a licensed electrical contractor based in Agoura Hills, California. We serve homeowners and businesses across Thousand Oaks, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Moorpark, and all of LA and Ventura County. The business was founded in 2001 by Nikolay Zubyan and is still run by the same family today. California contractor license B and C10, number 1010883.

DNZ Electrical Services licensed electricians standing with industry certifications including Tesla Wall Connector installer, Generac, Southern California Edison, and EVITP training in Agoura Hills California.

The story behind DNZ Electrical Services

Nikolay Zubyan didn't set out to run a company. He set out to be a good electrician.

He learned the trade the old way — starting as an apprentice, working alongside electricians with decades of experience, getting his hands on every kind of job before he ever ran one on his own. He earned his California C10 electrical contractor license and went to work.

In 2001, he started DNZ Electrical Services with one truck and one goal: show up on time, do the work right, and be honest about what something costs before you start. No surprises. No shortcuts.

That turned out to be enough. Word got around the Conejo Valley. One neighbor told another. A panel upgrade in Agoura Hills led to a referral in Thousand Oaks. A referral in Thousand Oaks led to three more jobs in Calabasas. After 23 years, DNZ has completed more than 10,000 electrical jobs across LA and Ventura County.

Nikolay still lives in the Conejo Valley. He still reviews every estimate before it goes out. When you call 818-514-1417, there is a real chance he picks up.

A father and son business

Nikolay's son Andy now works at DNZ. Customers who call after hours or book online often find Andy on the job — the same level of care, the same standards, the same way of doing things Nikolay built the business on.

This is what family-owned actually means in practice. It doesn't mean the owner's name is on the sign. It means the people doing the work have a personal stake in how it goes. When Andy installs a panel in Westlake Village, it reflects on his father and on the family name. That's a different kind of accountability than a large franchise operation.

Today DNZ runs three fully-stocked service trucks and three licensed electricians. The team is small enough that every customer gets real attention — not a ticket number in a queue.

How we work

DNZ Electrical Services electricians explaining how DNZ works including upfront pricing permits stocked trucks testing and lifetime workmanship warranty in Agoura Hills, Thousnd Oaks ans LA and Ventura Counries

How DNZ works — what you can expect

We've been doing this long enough to know that most homeowners have had at least one bad experience with a contractor. The job that took twice as long as promised. The price that doubled after the work started. The technician who disappeared when something went wrong six months later.

Here is how DNZ Electrical Services works differently:

We give you a price before we start — and that is the price

Our service assessment fee is $85 during regular hours and $125 for emergencies and after-hours calls. Both fees are waived when you move forward with the work. Before any job starts, we give you a firm written price. What we quote is what you pay. No mid-job calls saying we found something extra.

We pull permits — every time they are required

Some electricians skip permits to save time or undercut on price. DNZ does not. Panel upgrades, EV charger installations, new circuits — any work that California code requires a permit for, we pull the permit, do the work to code, and arrange the inspection. Unpermitted electrical work creates problems when you sell your home and can void your homeowner's insurance. We won't put you in that position.

We keep our trucks stocked so most jobs finish in one visit

There is nothing more frustrating than an electrician who shows up, looks at the job, and tells you he needs to go get parts. Our service trucks carry the materials for the most common residential electrical jobs. We plan ahead so you're not waiting for a second visit.

We photograph and test everything before we leave

Every job gets photographed and tested before the truck leaves your driveway. This protects you and it protects us. If there is ever a question about the work, we have documentation. If a circuit doesn't test correctly, we find it before you do.

Every job comes with a lifetime workmanship warranty

Most electricians warranty their work for one year. DNZ warranties all labor for as long as you own your home. If anything we installed ever fails because of our workmanship, we come back and fix it at no charge. We offer this because we are confident in how we work — and because we plan to be in this community for another 23 years.
